Castaway

I've been lost at sea for several days on a life raft, and I've exhausted the last of my food and water rations. Suddenly my luck changes as I felt the gentle nudge of land against my head. I got up to see a beautiful tropical island with big palm trees, crabs, lizards and wild hogs. I jumped up with excitement and quickly dragged my raft up onto shore but my luck quickly ran out as I puncture my raft on a sharp rock rapidly deflating all the air in it making it useless. I quickly realized that the island was deserted and that I had become a castaway.

Without hesitation my survival instinct kicked in and I began to search for a place to build a shelter. I found a small trench along the side of a hill so I broke some branches off a fallen tree and ripped some palm fronds of a small palm tree and made a makeshift survival shelter. After finishing my shelter I heard a loud roar and quickly ducked into my shelter. I heard the roar again and realized it was the sound of my own stomach I needed food so I ripped some flax off a flax bush and collected the same rock that punctured my raft and stranded me on this island. I used the rock to strip the flax making it like a string I then went back to the same fallen tree that I used to make my shelter with, broke off a long pole like stick to use as a wooden spear shaft. I grabbed the sharp rock to use as a spear head and the strip of flax to tie the two together. After I had crafted my spear I was on the hunt for a wild hog. I climbed to the the top of a huge ark and scanned the area like a hawk looking for a rabbit in the long grass. After what seemed like hours I finally spotted my prey, I quietly rushed down into some thick shrubbery and waited till the hog came near. As soon as the hog was close enough I pounced onto the wild beast like a lion onto a gazelle, I stabbed it my spear into the hog’s neck but it was fighting back wildly I ripped my spear out and stabbed it over and over again until it slowed down and finally died.

I carried it over my shoulders back to my camp and skinned it with my rock. I made a campfire with a spit to roast the hog on. I scrunched a bunch of dry grass and wood shavings up and put on the campfire. I banged two rocks together and made a couple of sparks that were enough to get the grass smoking I blew on the smoke to get the fire going and just like that it lit up. I stuck the hog on the spit and started turning it around to get it roasting. Despite the burnt looking parts of the roast it tasted delicious but after my meal I was very thirsty. I didn't have any pots with me that I could use to boil any water with so I looked up the trees for some coconuts. I found one tree that had a whole bunch of coconuts so I climbed up the tree and started bashing at the stem of the bundle with my trusty rock. After a few hits with my rock the bundle came falling down nearly knocking me down with it. I hoped down and cracked one of the coconuts open with my rock and drank the milk. After my refreshing beverage I went to sleep in my makeshift  hut.

When I woke up it was a beautiful sunny day, even after my huge meal the night before I was still hungry my body must have been burning off fat while I was sleeping to stay warm I thought. I wrapped the remaining meat from my meal the night before in some leaves and hung it up so animals couldn’t get to it. For my last day on this  island Hopefully I decided to make a delicious breakfast with roasted crab and pork on a stick. After my Savory breakfast I was filled up and ready to do some work, I grabbed what ever material I could such as seaweed, seashells, sticks, rocks, leaves and whatever debris that washed up on shore and used it to make a help signal. Once I was finished I sat down by the campfire that was still lit from breakfast and waited for rescue. I fell asleep.

All of a sudden I was awoken by the chopping sound of a helicopter. Without giving it a second thought I jumped up with excitement and ran to my signal. I scanned the air looking for the helicopter I spotted the chopper and began waving out rapidly desperate for someone to spot me. Someone saw me and the helicopter turned around. The helicopter hovered there for a moment then a rope was thrown down, shortly after a rescue crew member came down with the rope. The helicopter gradually lowered its altitude the rescue crew member told me to take his hand and he pulled me up onto the rope and attached a harness to me and I pulled myself up to the helicopter.  The rescue crew member pulled himself up and closed the door he handed me a blanket and a sandwich. It was so fast when the helicopter came to pick me up I never even noticed how excited I was to see other people. I don’t think I had ever been so happy before in my whole life.

The Abandon House

The bell rang for school to Finnish. My brother Stacey and I collected our bags from the cloak bay and headed out through the classroom. Instead of taking the bus home we decided to walk home since mum was going to be home late tonight and our older brother was always late because he goes to high school. We knew it was going to be way longer than taking the bus but we decided it would be fun. We slowly took our time walking back home the other kids on the bus passed us and waved. We admired the countryside as we walked back home and played the car game. Then something odd happened there was a sudden change of weather and it just started pouring down on us. It was weird  because it was nothing but clear skies before. We sought shelter in an old boarded up house it had a long gravel driveway leading up to it with a big metal gate that was chained up we jumped over the gate and headed up to the front porch. The door was locked. Stacey was looking for another way in like a window that wasn’t boarded up or a hole in the floor. I couldn’t stand getting wet anymore so I kicked the old rickety door down. That door was as stubborn as a mule and didn’t budge I ended up twisting my ankle. Stacey grabbed a branch of a fallen tree and used it like a battering ram and broke the door down. He carried me over his shoulder and eased me into a chair. It was when I was seated that I realized that their was a bookshelf in front of the door.

We were amazed at what we had found in that house it was like a blast from the past. There were all sorts of trinkets from back in the day there was a record player with one of those big hearing things on them, there was one of those old 19th century telephones with the dial and the stand that looked like something straight out of steam punk, there was an old spy glass that pirates use to use, an old camera that looks like it was used in the civil war when I told my brother about all these things he stood there staring at me with bulging eyes looking like he just witnessed a murder. He asked me how I knew about all those things I told him I like to learn about history in my spare time.

This place was like an emporium for old devices. Who ever used to live here must have been a devoted collector. The house had a very musty smell like an old person's house. The wallpaper was all peeling off it was a creamy white kind of color. We were exploring the house. It was a big two story house with an attic. When we entered the attic we were greeted by stuffed animal heads on the wall it was obvious who ever lived in this house was a bit off a hunter in fact their prized rifle was mounted on the wall underneath a beautiful stuffed head of a buck. This must have been their prized kill. The hunting rifle mounted on the wall had the name Reba engraved into the steel part of the receiver. No wonder Reba was his prized gun it took 50.caliber bullets pretty powerful.

There was a secret compartment at the back of the room. I pulled open the rope that was attached to the hatch there was a staircase leading down into darkness. We slowly walked down the staircase this wasn’t easy because  of my twisted ankle we heard an evil sounding cackle we looked back we saw a mysterious looking figure in the entrance of the secret compartment. It slammed the hatch closed Stacey ran up to try and open the hatch but it was no use the hatch wouldn’t open we had no other choice but to continue down the staircase we entered a poorly lit room it was cold and the room was surrounded by concrete walls it was not long before we realized that it was a torture dungeon there were puddles of blood on the floor and the walls were stained with blood. This house of wonder turned into a house of horror. There were cells, shackles and  medieval torture devices everywhere we were speechless. In the cells were dog bowls with moldy food and water in them. The cells were littered with skeletons some were fresh with the flesh peeled of the bone. The smell was horrendous we had to cover our faces to keep ourselves from throwing up we continued walking down the cold concrete corridor. There was a rusted steel door with a glass window beside it was a skeleton with a hammer lodged in it’s skull Stacey took it and smashed the glass he opened it from the other side we crept up the staircase leading back into the main part of the house we grabbed our bags and were about to leave until we heard the man in the attic talking to his beloved Reba we snuck up the attic staircase he spoke of us in his dungeon and how he was going to torture us until we died and he was going to make a stew out of our flesh. Stacey stealthily snuck up behind his and bashed him over the head with the hammer I had to hold him back to keep him from killing the man. I would have been fine with Stacey killing him but if he did he would be charged for manslaughter.

We escaped home called our mum and called the police and the arrested him. He was sentenced to death via electric chair we smiled when the police officer told us that and from what we witnessed the chief commissioner suggested therapy lessons for me and my older brother Stacey so every Wednesday we skip school and spend the day with our therapist. So in a way we saved a lot of potential victims from ever discovering this house. And next time we’ll take the bus.

The Digestive System

Have you ever wondered how food is digested? I will provide you with adequate information on how food is digested.

The digestion of food begins in your mouth. You chew your food with your teeth and it becomes soggy with your saliva and your tongue pushes the food down the trapdoor or the esophagus.

The food is then broken down by acidic juices in your stomach. The broken down food enters the small intestine. The goodness is left behind and is carried into your bloodstream and travels all through your body to help you grow and repair your body and give you energy. The balance of the food moves into the large intestine and the water is taken out.

The undigested  food then passes into the rectum and excreted out your body through the anus as waste and then the toilet takes care of the rest.

This is was a quick and snappy explanation on how the digestive system works I hope I have provided you with enough information on how the digestive system works.
