Vault 111

(Nate saying introduction)
In the year 1945 my great-great-grandfather served in the army he wondered when he would get to go home to his wife and to the son he’d never seen. He got his wish when the U.S ended world war 2 by dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The world awaited Armageddon instead something miraculous happened. We began to use atomic energy not as a weapon but as a nearly limitless source of power. They use this to make the world better. The idea of nuclear powered cars has been brought back. Domestic robots have been invented to help people. But with every great new thing that happens in the world there always seems to be a war over it.

Robots have been built to go to war and hydraulic amour has been designed for the heavy infantry. Wars have been raging against the U.S.A and China. A company called Vault-tec designed special vaults (a fallout bunker) to keep civilians safe from nuclear fallout. Let me tell you of an event, news of nuclear detonation has been received. Residence who have been put on vault tec's list are authorized to proceed to their local vault, vault 111. Unfortunately some people did not make it to their vaults in time and those who did not make it would have had to evolve with their surroundings or perish.

Not all vaults where safe. Some vaults where conducting experiments to see how well the average human could

adapt/survive with their surroundings. One vault in particular (vault 111) they were focusing on cryo stasis pods to observe the effects of long-term cryogenic suspended animation on unsuspecting test subjects. Only people with war experience or relations to people who have had war experience are put on this list.

But all that changed when two scientists escorted by a mercenary broke into the vault. Their mission was to extract the only baby in the vault. The mother of the child was holding him. She was not eager to give up her infant son she and one of the scientists struggled but the fight was ended when the mercenary pulled out his large caliber .44 magnum revolver and shot the women. In the pod in front of her was her husband Nate he was devastated witnessing the death of his wife and the abduction of his son. He was paralyzed with anger. After the abstraction was made only the 2 pods were re-frozen. Set for another 60 years.

As Nate gained consciousness he heard the vault computer say “Manuel seal override”. His pod opened up he instantly without hesitation rushed over to his wife. Disengaging her cryo pod the wound was still as fresh as the day she got shot. Nate then realized it was too late to give her medical attention. He then grabs her wedding ring and promises to save their infant son. He attempts to leave the vault he comes across a handful of large irradiated cockroaches luckily for him they died just as easy as regular cockroaches. On his way out he comes across the skeletal remains of a scientist with a Pip-boy (portable information processor) attached to its severed arm he equips this and attaches it to a plug in the vault door control board and overrides it to exit the vault.

(Pip-boy)

He emerges from the the vault laying his eyes on the wasteland for the first time he gave a long shocked gasp. He then says to himself war...war never changes.

  1. Wow Cruz,
You have amazing imagination. I would agree war doesn't really change. Have many of the things you write about already been created?
